![]() My name is Jack Anderson. What I give my attention to matters. Why? Relationships matter. Whether it's with God or you, what captures my focus captures my heart and affects those I love. For it affects how well I love. To stay riveted on God and love you well, I must pay attention to what I pay attention to.

Falling in Like all over Again - Part 5
If I doubt you still like me, I must resist the urge to ask you. Instead, I need to ask God and myself ‘Am I still likable?’ Be brutally honest. If any one quality can make me more likable, it’s genuine kindness. If any one quality can change a heart, it’s kindness from the heart. But to be kind for that purpose is manipulation. Be kind to be kind. Learning to love guarantees a joy that looking for love can’t provide. Jesus said, “It’s more blessed (to be happy) to give than to receive.” My wife adds to my joy. But she is not the source of my joy. God is. If I think her role is to make me happy, I never will be. Nor will she. Tim Keller said “You only discover your own happiness after each of you has put the happiness of your spouse ahead of your own.” |
Richard Moss said “The greatest gift you can give another is the purity of your attention.”
Attention matters. Why? People matter. Relationships matter. So let's give our attention to what matters most.
